What is it?

This is the main spot of Telemundo’s Pride campaign 2022.

What were we thinking?

Embracing the colors of the LGBTQ+ flag, our director David Navarro proposed to shoot Telemundo’s talents on different backdrop color, that way the colors will be the center piece and will make a visually captivating spot. Additionally, the talent’s wardrobe would be vital to create harmonious color palette for each one, using the same color on different shades or with its analog.

What did we do?

We were in charge of the production and post-production of the spot.

This was a long shoot at Telemundo Center. We had eleven talents and eleven backgrounds to change! Thank God for the “cafecitos” and the positive energy of our crew and Telemundo’s talent we were able to successfully accomplish this production.

On the post-production side, we paid special attention to the color correction and compositing of the spot. The first one because we needed to keep the background color as close to the LGBTQ+ flag as possible. And the compositing because since we used paper backgrounds (what?! Yes, we know but we had a tight budget). Even though our Art team did its best during the production, inevitably some backgrounds suffered some imperfections (like wrinkles) that needed to be corrected, using the digital iron of the post-production deities.

Who else was involved?

Telemundo’s Creative Marketing team created the script and its production team supported us coordinating the schedule of Telemundo’s talent, as well as the convenience to shoot in one of the studios at Telemundo Center. Additionally, we had the special support of the Telemundo’s team of stylists that found color-custom wardrobe for each talent based on their color backgrounds.

What was the result?

The result is a spot that we’re very proud of because is visually engaging and inspiring at the same time, but especially while invites the audience to be agents of change and become allies of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in a moment when the progress that society has made on equal rights is under attack.
